Abstract

Currently available ski maps are general, static, oversimplified maps, which are not very user friendly, especially for skiers who are new to the ski area. A lo cation aware, personalized, dynamic ski map is desired by ski lovers to explore a ski area. Pervasive Computing paradigm can provide users with mobile, personal ized, and real-time information services for obtaining ski map that meets the us er”Ēs skiing ability.

In this presentation, I will present an approach to generate personalized ski ma ps from DEM data. The application is user dependent as personal context may dict ate the ski routes which are suitable to the user. I will also present some of t he issues that arise from such computation.
