Before internet was popular, people rely on Yellow Page and White Page to find information they seek; however, Yellow Page and White Page have limited contents and are published yearly. People can not find timely information with high satisfaction. Nowadays, Internet brings us a rich and timely information resource. Although Google, Yahoo and other search engines can help us a lot, it is still quite difficult to find the desired information as we have to go through numerous related searching results and we might end up with no satisfied results. Over time we learned that what our information systems needed was data about data we were using. In other words, we needed Meta Data. Meta Data can help us find information efficiently. Furthermore, the electronic Yellow Page and White Page on the website lack of Meta Data management. Therefore, we would like to build an Intelligent Web Information System by applying Meta Data management to make web searching more effectively. In this presentation, first of all, Meta Data fundamentals will be introduced. Then, related Meta Data management models are presented. Next, constructing the Meta Data architecture and building the Meta Data model in the Intelligent Web Information System are illustrated. Fourthly, implementing method in our approach is examined. Finally, the future work related Meta Data management is discussed.
